International Patients — IVF and Women’s Health Care in Istanbul

Every year women travel to Istanbul from Europe, the Gulf, Central Asia and beyond for IVF, fertility treatment, gynaecological surgery and pregnancy care. This page explains, plainly, how treatment works at UCARER Women’s Health when you live abroad: who will treat you, what is legally possible in Turkey and what is not, how long you should plan to stay, how travel and accommodation are handled, and how the official invitation letter for your visa is issued.

Who will treat you

Your care is led by Assist. Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Uçarer, an obstetrician, gynaecologist and IVF specialist with more than three decades of clinical experience. He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1990, completed his obstetrics and gynaecology residency at Zeynep Kamil Training and Research Hospital in 1995, and holds an IVF and Reproductive Endocrinology certification from Acıbadem University (2008). He is a member of ESHRE, the Turkish Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (TJOD), the Reproductive Medicine and Surgery Association (ÜTCD) and the Turkish Society of Urogynecology.

The clinic holds a Health Tourism Authorisation from the Turkish Ministry of Health — the licence a clinic must hold in order to treat patients who travel to Turkey for care, and the basis on which an official invitation letter can be issued.

Consultations, monitoring and outpatient procedures take place at our clinic in Bahçeşehir. Surgery and childbirth are performed at Acıbadem Hospital, a JCI-accredited hospital group, in partnership with our clinic. Clinical guidance follows international guidelines (ACOG, RCOG) alongside Turkish national guidance.

A female obstetrician and gynaecologist, Op. Dr. Meryem Gökkaya Uçarer, also practises at the clinic, and a female surgeon performs aesthetic gynaecology procedures. If you would prefer to be seen by a woman, say so when you book and we will arrange it — for many of our patients this matters, and it is a normal request, not a special one.

We work in seven languages

Care and correspondence are available in English, Turkish, German, French, Arabic, Russian and Persian (Farsi). You can write to us in any of these languages and receive an answer in the same language. Your patient coordinator stays with you from your first question through to your follow-up after you return home.

What is possible in Turkey — and what is not

This is the section most international patients tell us they wish they had read first.

• We provide own-egg IVF and ICSI. These are the fertility treatments legally offered in Turkey, and they are what we do.
• Egg donation and sperm donation are not legally available in Turkey — for any clinic. If you have been told otherwise by an agency or a clinic, that information is wrong. We would rather tell you this before you book a flight than after you land.
• Sex selection for non-medical reasons is not permitted. Preimplantation genetic testing is used for medical indications, when your physician recommends it.

If donor treatment is what your situation requires, we will tell you honestly, and we will not take a booking that cannot help you.

How treatment works when you live abroad

1. Write to us — free of charge. Send your medical history and any recent test results by WhatsApp or e-mail. A preliminary assessment costs nothing and carries no obligation.
2. Online consultation with the physician. A video consultation, so that you and the doctor meet before you travel and your plan is based on your own results. This is the one step that is paid in advance, and the fee is deducted from your treatment cost if you go ahead with us.
3. Your written plan and estimate. After the consultation you receive, in writing, what is recommended, how long it takes and what it costs.
4. Travel documents. If you need an official invitation letter for your visa application, see the section below.
5. Your stay and treatment in Istanbul. Your coordinator confirms your dates, your arrival and your appointments.
6. Follow-up after you go home. Follow-up continues online after you return, in your own language.

Please note: only the online consultation is paid in advance. Fees for an in-person appointment or for surgery are settled at the clinic — an in-person appointment is never conditional on paying beforehand, and if you have already paid for a consultation you will not be asked to pay for it again.

How long should you plan to stay?

For an IVF cycle, you come to the clinic on the second or third day of your period. The doctor examines you with ultrasound and requests hormone tests. If the conditions are suitable, oral medication is started and you are reviewed again about ten days later. Most patients stay between 15 and 20 days in Turkey, and our treatment packages are built around a 20-night stay.

Gynaecological surgery and shorter procedures usually require a considerably shorter stay. Your physician will tell you the realistic length for your own treatment at the consultation, before you book anything.

Travel, accommodation and transfers

We can arrange your hotel, your airport welcome and departure transfer, and your transfers to and from the clinic for every follow-up visit. These are included in our all-inclusive treatment packages; they can also be added separately if you prefer to organise the rest of your trip yourself. Arranging your own hotel and your own transfers is always a legitimate option, and some patients prefer it.

An honest note about these figures. Our medical fees are fixed: the price quoted for a treatment is the price of that treatment. Hotel and transfer prices, by contrast, are never fixed or guaranteed — they move with the season, with exchange rates and with fuel prices in Turkey. Any hotel or transfer figure you are given is indicative only, and is confirmed by your patient coordinator once your dates are set. We would rather show you an honest range than a fixed number we cannot hold.

A ready seven-night package, in two options. For our day-case and single-overnight procedures we can arrange the whole week for you: a 3-star hotel near the clinic — €1,000 or a 5-star hotel — €1,500, both for seven nights, room and breakfast. Both include all the transfers in our own VIP vehicles: airport to hotel, hotel to clinic for your examination, hospital discharge back to the hotel, hotel to clinic and back for the final check before you fly home, and hotel to airport — seven to eight VIP transfers in all. Flights are not included in either option, and you may book the hotel yourself and take the transfers only. We do not name a hotel in advance: your coordinator sends you the actual hotel by name, with photographs, and you pay only after you approve it. Both figures are indicative, for the reasons given above.

The official invitation letter for your visa

If your visa application requires proof that you are travelling to Turkey for medical treatment, we can issue an official invitation document through the Turkish Ministry of Health’s Health Türkiye system. This is a state-verified record and is checked at the consulate, so it is issued carefully and only when all four of the following are complete:

1. Your file — passport details, medical history, and any existing test results.
2. Identity verification — either an online video consultation, or consistency between your passport, your medical reports and your medical history. If the documents do not agree with one another, we will ask you about it before anything is issued.
3. Review by the physician — the doctor reviews your file personally.
4. A fee — either the online consultation or an advance payment. The document itself is free; the amount you pay is deducted from your treatment cost. Payment alone is not enough: without the first three steps, no document is issued.

We cannot guarantee a visa, and we do not promise a date. What we issue is the official invitation document; the decision on your visa belongs to the consulate alone. Any clinic or agency that promises you a visa is promising something it does not control.

What treatment costs

Our full price list — consultations and check-ups, IVF and ICSI packages, embryo transfer, gynaecological surgery and travel support — is published openly on our treatment prices page, in euro. Medical fees are fixed and stated in advance; only hotel and transfer figures are indicative, for the reasons explained above. Your exact, all-inclusive total is confirmed in writing after your consultation.

• Online consultation — €115, deducted from your treatment cost if you proceed with us.
• IVF / ICSI packages — IVF Basic €3,740 · IVF Full €4,161 (includes the mandatory pre-treatment tests) · IVF Full + Stay €5,252 (15 nights, 3-star hotel) · IVF All-In €6,400 (4-star hotel, coordinator, embryo freezing) · IVF VIP €8,850 (5-star hotel, 18 nights). • Travel support, if you want it — hotel from about €70 per night (3-star), €120 (4-star) or €190 (5-star); airport transfer from about €130; clinic transfer about €55. These travel figures are indicative only and are confirmed by your coordinator, for the reasons above.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to come to Istanbul before treatment starts?

No. Your first consultation is held online, so you and the physician meet and agree a plan before you book any travel. You travel once, for the treatment itself.

Is egg donation available at your clinic?

No. Egg and sperm donation are not legally available anywhere in Turkey. We provide own-egg IVF and ICSI.

Do the doctors speak English?

Yes. Care and correspondence are available in English, Turkish, German, French, Arabic, Russian and Persian, and your coordinator communicates with you in your own language throughout.

Can I be treated by a female doctor?

Yes. A female obstetrician and gynaecologist practises at the clinic, and a female surgeon performs aesthetic gynaecology procedures. Please tell us when you book.

How many days will I need in Turkey for IVF?

Most IVF patients stay between 15 and 20 days. Your physician confirms the length for your own treatment at the online consultation.

Can you help with my visa?

We can issue the official Health Türkiye invitation document once your file, identity verification, physician review and fee are complete. The visa decision itself rests with the consulate, and no clinic can guarantee it.

Are hotel and transfer prices fixed?

No. Medical fees are fixed; hotel and transfer prices change with the season, exchange rates and fuel costs, so they are always indicative until your coordinator confirms them for your dates. You are also free to arrange your own hotel and transfers.
