The legal framework in Turkey
In Turkey, elective surgical termination of pregnancy is legally permitted up to the 10th week of gestation. Beyond this limit, intervention is only considered for specific medical reasons defined by law. Your physician confirms gestational age and the appropriate, lawful options at your consultation.
Surgical abortion: what to expect
A surgical termination within the legal limit is a short procedure. Anaesthesia options (local or sedation, as clinically appropriate) are discussed with you in advance. Your physician explains the steps, the recovery, and the contraception options available afterwards, so you can make an informed choice in a calm, confidential setting.
Miscarriage and pregnancy loss
Miscarriage is common and is never the patient’s fault. When a pregnancy ends on its own, management may be expectant (waiting), medical, or surgical (ERPC — evacuation of retained products of conception), depending on your situation and wishes. We aim to make this process as gentle, safe and supported as possible.
Recurrent pregnancy loss
If you have experienced more than one loss, recurrent miscarriage management looks for treatable causes (hormonal, anatomical, genetic, immunological) and builds a plan for a future pregnancy. In some cases this connects with IVF and genetic testing of embryos (PGT).
Emotional support
However a pregnancy ends, the emotional side matters as much as the medical one. You will never be rushed or judged. We take time to answer your questions, explain what is happening in plain language, and support you at your own pace — and we can guide you to further counselling if you wish.
Contraception and future planning
If and when you are ready, your physician can discuss contraception options or, alternatively, a plan for a healthy future pregnancy — including pre-conception checks. There is no pressure in either direction; the plan is yours.
