Surgical Abortion in Turkey: What to Expect (2026)

· 1 min read

In Turkey, elective surgical termination of pregnancy is legally permitted up to the 10th week of gestation. This guide explains the process factually and without judgement, so you can make an informed decision.

Before the procedure

Your physician confirms gestational age, discusses your options and answers your questions in a calm, confidential setting. Anaesthesia options (local or sedation, as clinically appropriate) are explained in advance.

The procedure and recovery

The procedure itself is short. You receive clear aftercare guidance and information on contraception options afterwards if you wish. Surgical care, where needed, is provided at our JCI-accredited partner hospital, Acıbadem.

Privacy and support

Every part of this care is confidential and free of judgement, provided by Assist. Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Uçarer. If you have experienced loss rather than chosen termination, see understanding miscarriage.
